Web Design for Orange County Businesses That Need the Phone to Ring

Service pages, local search and a call button that gets counted, built in Costa Mesa

Website design for a local business is the work of turning a search someone in your city already makes, such as "plumber Huntington Beach" or "med spa Newport Beach", into a page that answers the question and offers one clear next step: call, book, or get directions. We build that page and the ones around it for businesses in Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine and Huntington Beach, and across the rest of Orange County. Design is the part everyone sees. The pages, the tracking and the Google Business Profile links underneath are what make the phone ring.

Why doesn't your current website bring in calls?

Most local business websites in Orange County were built to exist, not to work. They look finished. They just have no way of being found for the searches that matter, and no way of telling you whether anyone called.

  • One page describes every service, so it ranks for none of them
  • The city you serve appears in the footer and nowhere else
  • The phone number is text, not a button, and nobody knows how many people tapped it
  • Google Business Profile, Maps and reviews live in a different universe from the site
  • It was built on a page builder that is slow on a phone, which is where every customer is
  • Nobody has touched it since launch, so hours, prices and staff are wrong

Every one of these costs calls you never see. A visitor who cannot find their service, their city or a button leaves for the next result, and there is always a next result two miles away. You cannot fix what you cannot count, so the tracking is not a nice-to-have. It is the first thing we install.

What Does the Website Include?

Keyword research first: the searches customers in your city make before they hire, and which ones are worth a page
A page for each service and, where it earns one, each area you serve, written to answer the search rather than describe you
Click-to-call, a booking link or a quote form on every page, each one tracked so you know which page produced the call
Google Business Profile, Maps, hours and reviews connected to the site and kept consistent with it
LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ schema so search engines and AI assistants can read what you do and where
Built to load fast on a phone: no page-builder bloat, no autoplay video, images sized properly
GA4, call tracking and form tracking installed and tested before launch, not promised for later
Full handover: code, hosting account and domain in your name, with written instructions for edits

Website Builder vs Template vs Built for You: Which Gets You Calls?

All three produce a website. They differ on who writes the pages, whether local search is set up, whether anyone can tell if it worked, and who owns it at the end.

If a builder genuinely fits your business, we will say so. The comparison pages exist for that reason.

Where do you do web design?

We are in Costa Mesa, and for a local site that matters more than it does for most of our work. The photographs of your premises, the walk through your services with whoever answers the phone, and the training on how to change a price are all easier across a table than across a screen.

Orange County is dense. A search for a service in Irvine returns businesses in Tustin and Costa Mesa too, so the site has to say precisely where you are and what you do, in words a search engine can match, rather than leaning on proximity to sort it out. That is why we build a page per service rather than a single page that mentions everything.

Bilingual sites are standard where your customers need them. A Santa Ana business with Spanish-speaking customers gets a Spanish version of the pages that matter, not a translate button.

What Does a Website Cost?

From $2,900

A one-time build. The figure moves with how many pages the business needs, whether the copy and photographs exist yet, and what the site has to connect to. We tell you the number in writing after one call, and it does not move after that.

After launch you own the site and owe nothing. If you want us to host it, keep it updated and fix what breaks, that is Build & Maintain from $149/month.

How Do We Build It?

1

Research, then a fixed quote

One call about your services, your customers and how they find you now. We check what people in your area actually search for and come back with a page list and a fixed price in writing.

2

Write, design, connect

Copy first, design second. We write each page against its search, design around the call to action, and wire in Google Business Profile, tracking and schema. You review a working site, not a mock-up.

3

Launch and hand over

We launch on your domain, confirm the tracking fires on a real call and a real form, and hand over the accounts. Most local sites go live in three to five weeks; you own everything from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a website cost for a small business in Orange County?
Our build starts at $2,900 one-time, and the figure is fixed in writing after one call. What moves it above the floor is three things: how many pages the business genuinely needs, which depends on how many services and areas are worth a page of their own; whether the copy and photographs exist or have to be produced; and what the site has to connect to, such as a booking system, a menu, or a customer portal. Once you accept the quote it does not move. Hosting and care after launch is optional and published at $149 per month on our Build and Maintain page; without it you own the site and owe nothing further. Before you commit to anyone, add up what a website builder would cost you monthly over three years and compare it with a one-time build you own. Sometimes the builder wins, and we will tell you if it does.
How long does it take to build a website?
Three to five weeks for most local business sites, measured from the day we have your answers to the first call, and the honest reason it is not faster is the writing. A site that brings in calls has a page per service written against what people search for, and that copy has to be drafted, checked against what you actually offer, and corrected by you. Design is quicker than people expect once the words exist. What pushes a project past five weeks is almost always waiting: photographs that have not been taken, a logo file nobody can find, or a list of services that keeps changing. We tell you at the start what we need from you and when, and we build in the order that lets you review real pages early rather than a mock-up at the end. If you have a hard date, such as an opening, say so on the first call and we plan backwards from it.
Will the new website rank on Google?
Nobody can promise a ranking, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What we can say is what the site will have that most local sites do not: a page for each service and each area you serve, written to match the searches people make; LocalBusiness and FAQ schema so search engines can read what you do and where; a fast, mobile-first build; and a Google Business Profile that agrees with the site on name, address, phone and hours. For a local business, the map pack usually matters more than the organic list, and it is driven by your profile, your reviews and your proximity to the searcher as much as by the website. The site gives those signals somewhere consistent to point. If you want the ongoing work of ranking, that is our SEO service, and we will tell you plainly whether your category needs it or whether the site and a review habit will do.
Do I own the website when it is finished?
Yes, completely, and it is worth checking what that means with anyone you consider. At handover the code is in a repository you control, the hosting account is in your name with your card on it, and the domain is registered to you, not to us. You receive written instructions for the edits you will actually make, such as changing hours, prices, a staff member or a photograph, and a short recorded walkthrough. If you later want a different developer, a different host, or to take it in-house, nothing stops you and no fee applies. The alternative most people do not notice they are agreeing to is a site that lives inside a builder's platform or an agency's account, where leaving means starting again. If you would rather not run the hosting and updates yourself, our Build and Maintain plan does it for a published monthly fee, and you still own the site.
Can you redesign my existing website instead of building a new one?
Often, and sometimes it is the better answer. We start by looking at what the current site has going for it: pages that already rank, links from other sites, a domain with some history. Those are worth keeping, and a redesign that throws them away can lose visibility you did not know you had. If the structure is sound and the problems are copy, speed, mobile layout and missing tracking, we work on the existing site and you pay for less. If it is built on a platform that cannot be made fast or cannot support a page per service, we rebuild and carry the old URLs across with redirects so nothing that ranked is lost. Either way we say which it is after looking, in writing, before you spend anything. Bring the current site to the first call and we will tell you what we would keep.
Should I just use Wix or Squarespace instead?
For some businesses, yes, and we will say so if that is you. A builder makes sense when you need a one-page presence, you are comfortable updating it yourself, and your customers find you through referrals or a marketplace rather than through search. The trade-offs are the ones in the comparison table above: the site lives on their platform, the pages are whatever you have time to write, local search setup is on you, and nobody counts the calls. Those trade-offs stop being acceptable when search is where your customers come from, because then the site is not a brochure but the thing that decides whether the phone rings. Where the line falls depends on your category and how many competitors sit within a few miles. In most of Orange County that number is high. Run the three-year cost comparison from the first question before deciding, and ask us if you are unsure.
