Amazon PPC for Home & Kitchen Brands

Home and kitchen is a category where generic search terms are enormous and almost entirely unprofitable. Bidding on "kitchen gadgets" is a fast way to spend a budget with nothing to show for it. We build campaigns around the specific, qualified searches your product actually wins, then defend the terms that convert.

Why home & kitchen brands is different

Home and kitchen demand moves hard with seasons and gifting cycles, so a static bid strategy is either overpaying in the quiet months or under-bidding through the peak. We plan the calendar around your category's demand curve and shift budget into the windows that actually convert, instead of spending evenly all year.

Frequently asked questions

Should I bid on broad category terms?
Mostly as a discovery instrument, not as a channel. A broad or automatic campaign with a small fixed daily budget is a reasonable way to find out what people actually type before they buy your product, provided you mine the search-term report weekly, promote the terms that convert into exact match with their own bids, and add the rest as negatives. Left unattended it stops being research and becomes a subscription to other people's traffic. The test is arithmetic you can run yourself: pull any broad term with meaningful clicks and no orders, multiply clicks by your average cost per click, and that is what the term cost you to learn nothing. Do that across a month and the negative list writes itself. The exception is a brand with real budget defending a category-defining position, where head-term visibility has a value beyond the immediate order, but that is a deliberate choice rather than a default.
How do you handle Q4 and gifting season?
By planning against your own demand curve rather than the category's reputation. Pull three years of ordered units by week from your business reports and you will see your peak and, more usefully, when it starts. Most brands find demand turns up two or three weeks before they historically raised budgets, and those weeks are the cheapest ones. Conversion rates rise in the peak, which means a higher cost per click can still land at the same ACOS, so bidding as if nothing changed leaves volume on the table. The binding constraint is usually inventory rather than budget: going out of stock mid-peak costs you ranking that takes months to rebuild, so restock lead times should set the ceiling on how hard you push. Afterwards, budgets come back down deliberately, because carrying December bids into a quiet January is one of the least examined ways a home and kitchen account loses money.
Can you defend my brand terms?
Yes, and it is usually inexpensive because your own listing is the most relevant result. The reason to do it is that competitors can and do target your brand name, so a shopper who searched for you specifically can be shown someone else above the organic result. The honest complication is that some of those clicks you would have won for nothing, and the ad simply takes credit for an order that was already coming. That is testable rather than arguable: pause brand defence for two weeks and compare total orders on your brand terms, organic and paid together, against the period before. If the total barely moves, you were paying for traffic you already had, and the budget belongs somewhere else. If it drops, you have your answer and a number to justify the spend with. Run that test in a stable period, not during a promotion or a seasonal peak.
